2008 events

 
The Henrietta Wells Livermore School of Politics is proud of its many members who continued the tradition of our founders and were politically active during this election cycle. Many participated actively in the Presidential Primary Campaigns and then with the McCain campaign with phone banks, mailings, event planning, and execution. In addition, many worked in leadership roles in their home states on Congressional, Senatorial, Gubernatorial and local campaigns.
 
February 13th  Left - Right - Center, An In Depth Discussion of American Politics with Ellis Henican, Andrew Wilkow and Kellyanne Conway
   
 
February 25th  Young Marines Career Night for representatives of the Young Marines who attended the annual United Nations’ Conference on the Status of Women and Girls Throughout the World.
 
   
 
March 17th  The WNRC political contingent campaigned for the McCain/Palin team across from St. Patrick's Cathedral (51st Street and 5th Avenue) at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
 
June 17th  Frank Gaffney and a screening of the film ‘Islam vs. Islamists’ followed by a discussion of the film and issues with radical Islam.
 
August 6th  The 1st annual Black Republican Forum with Keynote Speaker Lynn Swann. The event was taped and rebroadcast by C-SPAN numerous times leading up to and during the political conventions.
 
September 9th  The annual Candidates’ Forum was held for New York City candidates.
 
Oct. 13th  The WNRC political contingent campaigned for the McCain/Palin team at the corner of 51st and 5th Avenue at the Columbus Day Parade.
 
Oct 23rd  Kellyanne Conway and Margaret Hoover joined us for Pollster and Pundit. They discussed many aspects of the 2008 election as well as Q&A from the audience.
 
Dec. 10th  Timothy Thyreen, President of Waynesburg University on The Role of Education at the Collegiate Level. Also, Judicial Courage by Judge John Knox and principle over politics during FDR’s administration.
